About This Event:

2022 Preview: What to watch for in DC and Key Markets

2021 has been a year of consolidation and steady growth in the domestic legal cannabis industry while being largely uneventful at the federal level — but that could all change soon. What does 2022 have in store for the industry? What states should we be watching? Will the CAO Act, MORE Act or States Reform Act advance in Congress? Steven Hawkins, CEO of the US Cannabis Council and Executive Director of the Marijuana Policy Project, joins the Cannabusiness Key for a sneak preview of what to watch for in 2022. Join the event live at Noon ET on December 17th to ask Steven your questions or watch the recording later at your convenience.

Meet the Speaker:

Steven Hawkins | CEO of the United States Cannabis Council & Executive Director of the Marijuana Policy Project

Steven Hawkins is President and CEO of the United States Cannabis Council and Executive Director of the Marijuana Policy Project, the leading national organizations advancing legalization of cannabis for adult use and medical treatment. Hawkins began his career as a civil rights attorney and has served in national leadership roles at organizations advancing civil and human rights and criminal justice reform. He was previously Executive Vice President of the NAACP, Executive Director of Amnesty International USA, President of the Coalition for Public Safety and Executive Director of the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty. He is a graduate of Harvard College and NYU School of Law.

The United States Cannabis Council is the broadest and most diverse collection of organizations, businesses and individuals ever to assemble to legalize cannabis in the United States. As a first-of-its-kind strategic alliance, USCC combines the collective resources of many of the largest cannabis companies, prominent advocacy organizations and hundreds of thousands of individuals to speak in one voice to end federal prohibition of cannabis and create an equitable and values-driven cannabis industry with social, financial and environmental benefits shared by all.
