Elixinol CEO of Americas Tom Siciliano Joins U.S. Hemp Authority Board of Directors

PRESS RELEASE

(March 2, 2021) – The U.S. Hemp Authority® (USHA), the hemp industry’s initiative to promote high standards, best practices and self-regulation, announced the addition of Elixinol CEO of Americas Tom

Siciliano to its Board of Directors. Siciliano brings a diverse and extensive cannabis background to the Authority as well as a passion and commitment to the hemp industry. Elixinol was among the first brands to receive the USHA certification seal when the program started in 2018.

“I’m incredibly grateful and honored for the opportunity to work with the USHA,” Siciliano said. “Elixinol remains invested in the development and path forward for the ever-growing and ever-changing hemp industry. From the start, Elixinol has gone above and beyond when it comes to product efficacy and transparency. Our involvement with the Authority further solidifies our commitment to quality and higher standards.”

Siciliano’s appointment is part of the Authority’s advocacy partnership with the U.S. Hemp Roundtable, where Siciliano serves on the Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Executive Committee and was recently named the group’s Vice President for Audit/Governance.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the U.S. Hemp Roundtable by welcoming Tom to our Board of Directors,” says Dr. Marielle Weintraub, U.S. Hemp Authority President. “Tom strengthens our group with his capable leadership and diverse experience. His commitment to the industry and to CBD education aligns with our goal to increase consumer trust and confidence in hemp products.”

Siciliano’s extensive background in the cannabis industry includes serving as President of Nutritional High International Inc., a vertically integrated cannabis manufacturing company, and President of Calyx, a subsidiary of Nutritional High and the third largest distributor of cannabis products in California. He also served as President/CFO for Canna Security America, turning the business into the second largest security company within the industry. Prior to his work in the cannabis space, Siciliano held senior executive roles at start-up companies, private equity firms and public Fortune 500 companies where he successfully orchestrated several turnaround results.

Founded in 2015, Elixinol was one of the first CBD brands on the market. A global company with a proven track record, Elixinol distributes CBD products in North and South America, throughout Europe, Asia and the Pacific Region. Elixinol’s parent company Elixinol Global Limited is publicly traded on the Australian Securities Exchange and on the U.S. OTC (ASX:EXL, OTC:ELLXF).

The USHA’s certification program is the hemp industry’s initiative to provide standards, best practices and self-regulation, giving consumers and retailers confidence in hemp and CBD products. Farmers, processors, manufacturers and brand owners who meet the program’s standards, as determined by an independent, third-party audit by Food Chain ID, the program’s new administrator, are awarded a seal of certification, signaling to consumers that their products are worthy of their trust.
