PRESS RELEASE

Wana Launches High Dose Gummies for Medical Marijuana Patients in Colorado

Boulder, Colo. (October 27, 2020)—Wana Brands is expanding options for Colorado medical marijuana patients with the launch of its high dose Exotic Yuzu Sativa/Inspire Gummies and Raspberry Limeade Indica/Mindful Gummies. These new high-potency gummies offer 50mg of THC per serving and are available in a 20-serving (1,000mg) package at select medical dispensaries throughout Colorado.

“We heard from our medical marijuana patients that they wanted more high-dose options in Wana’s Colorado medical line. We have responded to that request with these two new high dose gummies,” said Nancy Whiteman, CEO, Wana Brands. “Patients are seeking alternatives to pharmaceuticals that may have unwanted side effects. Wana’s portfolio of products featuring a range of ratios, doses and onset times allow these patients to better dial in their treatment.”

More than 80,000 Colorado residents are registered as medical marijuana patients, according to Colorado Department of Health and Environment data. Medical marijuana was first approved by Colorado voters in 2000. Since then, the list of qualifying conditions has been expanded to include ten different debilitating and disabling medical conditions. Physicians are also allowed to recommend medical marijuana for any condition that would otherwise be treated with opioids as a result of a 2019 change in the law. With these expansions in the law, there is a need for more dosing options to address various conditions.

Modern cannabis consumers are increasingly turning to edibles as they seek relief for specific health issues or even just relaxation during today’s stressful times. And perhaps the most popular and ubiquitous form of all cannabis edibles today is the small gummie treat with a big reputation for potent, long-lasting results.

It’s easy to understand the growing popularity of cannabis gummies when considering some of the key aspects of their use:

  • Their small size makes them easy to consume and easy to dose discreetly.
  • Gummies can be more easily transported and stored compared to other forms of cannabis.
  • Cannabis gummies don’t present a health risk to the lungs, a key consideration in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 respiratory-distress pandemic.
  • They provide an odorless, pandemic-friendly form of cannabis consumption that doesn’t disturb others nearby.
  • Gummies are available in an ever-widening selection of ratios, classes, flavors, as well as vegan, kosher and gluten-free varieties.

Today, there is a cannabis gummie for everyone, with brands offering vegan, non-GMO, all-natural and even kosher options. And the cannabis gummie continues to innovate in additional ways, including CBD/THC content, ratios and onset times. Though major cannabinoids such as THC and CBD are perhaps the most recognizable cannabinoids, research is underway in a variety of minor cannabinoids such as CBN, CBG, CBC and others—and how they can best work with proprietary botanical terpenes to target conditions affecting sleep, pain and anxiety. Continued efforts to innovate the cannabis gummie mean consumers will have more consistent options and results with cannabis in the future.

Wana Brands: Enhance Your Life.

Included in the 2020 Inc. 5000 list at #2,074 and boasting a three-year growth rate of 203%, Wana Brands is the No. 1 edibles brand in the United States, with more dollars sold than any other brand, according to BDS Analytics 2019 Brand Share Report. Wana leads the industry in quality, consistency and potency, providing a range of different options that enable customers to create the specific cannabis experience they want. Wana products offer diverse product forms, including edibles, vapes, and extended-release capsules, four different CBD/THC ratios, as well as a variety of different dosages, onset times and duration of effects. The portfolio is designed so products can be used singly or in combination to address specific health, wellness, and recreational needs. Wana products are available in Colorado, California, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Maryland, Arizona, Oregon and Oklahoma dispensaries, with Massachusetts, Missouri and Florida among the states imminently coming online.
