For third year in a row, Wana Brands lists on Inc. 5000

PRESS RELEASE

With a three-year revenue growth of 203.72%, Wana ranks No. 2074

Boulder, Colo. (August 12, 2020)Inc. Magazine today revealed that Wana Brands is No. 2074 on its annual Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. One of nine Boulder, Colo., companies on the list, Wana has pioneered the gummie as a consistent, potent and delicious delivery system for cannabis. Wana grossed over $25 million in 2019 and carved a niche for itself by constantly innovating its product line. Its products are vegan, gluten-free, and made with all-natural ingredients.

“The cannabis industry is still relatively new, and we’ve barely begun to understand all of the possibilities for what the plant can do,” noted Nancy Whiteman, CEO, Wana Brands. “As we look at the consumer demographic expanding, more cannabis consumers are utilizing the plant for a wider variety of conditions. At Wana, we prioritize innovation, such as the launch of our top selling Quick Onset line of products, which address the onset time of cannabis edibles, a major hurdle in consumer adoption.”

Wana Brands continues to innovate its products to achieve specific results from interaction with the body’s endocannabinoid system. One of the most important areas of focus for cannabis innovation today is product bioavailability, which has been a major focus for Wana since the company’s inception. A product’s bioavailability is important because when the active ingredient isn’t absorbed into the bloodstream results are inconsistent. If a product isn’t bioavailable, it’s being wasted. That costs the consumer, and it can be expensive for the manufacturer, especially if they lose a customer because a product doesn’t work as expected. With Wana’s recent introduction of its “quick onset” line of products, the company has accomplished innovative results with infused-cannabis gummies, creating an edible much different from slower-acting classic varieties.

Not only have the companies on the 2020 Inc. 5000 been very competitive within their markets, but the list as a whole shows staggering growth compared with prior lists as well. The 2020 Inc. 5000 achieved an incredible three-year average growth of over 500% and a median rate of 165%. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue was $209 billion in 2019, accounting for over 1 million jobs over the past three years.

Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000. The top 500 companies are also being featured in the September issue of Inc., available on newsstands August 12.

“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 come from nearly every realm of business,” said Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “From health and software to media and hospitality, the 2020 list proves that no matter the sector, incredible growth is based on the foundations of tenacity and opportunism.”

The annual Inc. 5000 event honoring the companies on the list will be held virtually from October 23 to 27, 2020. As always, speakers will include some of the greatest innovators and business leaders of our generation.
