A marijuana safety compliance facility was fined $100,000 as part of a settlement agreement with state regulators.
Iron Laboratories, LLC, a Walled Lake marijuana testing facility, was ordered to cease operations in August after Michigan’s Marijuana Regulatory Agency found the evidence of various violations of state law. In addition to the fine, the business is required to update its procedures and provide additional reports to the MRA for one year.
“While we are pleased that the licensee worked quickly to resolve these issues, it is clear that these actions never should have happened in the first place,” said MRA Executive Director Andrew Brisbo. “It is imperative that our safety compliance facilities – and all of our licensees – adhere strictly to the law and the administrative rules. The diligence with which our enforcement team investigated and brought these issues to light demonstrates the commitment that the MRA has in protecting marijuana patients here in Michigan.”
The Walled Lake business was the first to have its license suspended by state regulators. Representatives with Iron Laboratories told the MRA it took steps to prevent future violations. [Read more at MLive.com]
