Medical marijuana dispensaries opened in Ohio for the first time Wednesday.

With medical marijuana in Ohio, Kentucky will be the last state on Indiana’s border that also doesn’t allow medical marijuana.

Among Ohio’s first medical marijuana customers at a dispensary in Wintersville, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer, were a military veteran with PTSD who drove five hours to be there, a cannabis activist with multiple sclerosis, and a woman who didn’t even vote for the marijuana initiative but needed the product to treat her scoliosis.

Ohio marijuana dispensaries, supply are still limited

As in other places that recently legalized medical marijuana or even recreational marijuana, including Michigan and Canada, the rollout often takes some time.

Only four retail stores in Ohio were open for business for marijuana sales on Jan. 16: CY+ and Ohio Valley Natural Relief in Wintersville, The Botanist in Canton and The Forest Sandusky in Sandusky.
