PRESS RELEASE
Tom Garston tapped to elevate edible producer’s commitment to GMP standards
BOULDER, CO – Wana Brands–Colorado’s No. 1 edibles brand–has expanded its ranks with the addition of progressive culinary professional Todd Garston as Operations Director. Wana Brands co-owner Nancy Whiteman made the announcement. Garston is based in Wana Brands’ headquarters in Boulder.
In his new role as operations director, Garston plans, directs and coordinates the operations of Wana Brands. He will oversee multiple departments concerned with production, packaging, labeling and distribution of products to ensure that all Wana Brand products conform to established customer and quality standards. In addition, Garston will serve as a mentor, coaching and training department managers at production and distribution facilities in emerging markets, such as Arizona and Illinois, as the company continues to grow.
“I look forward to contributing to the development of Wana Brand’s quality infused products,” Garston said. “Wana Brands embodies professionalism, consistency, quality and innovation in the rapidly expanding marijuana market.”
An industry veteran, Garston has a unique knowledge of cannabis infusions, Metrc API and creative R&D in conjunction to production planning, management and streamlining. Previously, Garston was director of production manufacturing at Dixie Elixirs in Denver, where he oversaw production manufacturing of multiple companies with different initiatives and concepts. He increased revenue at Dixie from $1 million to $5 million in his first year, and streamlined operations and efficiencies, which directly lowered labor costs and created opportunity costs.
“Todd’s experience in world-class establishments and large-scale edibles production manufacturing has more than prepared him to head our operations department,” Whiteman said. “His specialized skillset and leadership abilities will take Wana Brands to the next level as the company continues to grow and expand into new territories.”
Garston has a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts from The Culinary Institute of America, and has lived in Colorado for over two decades. Garston, his wife and their two boys live just outside of Boulder with their mastiff Sidney.
