Self regulation is necessary and challenging due to the cultural background. To establish a coalition of industry players, one realization must emerge in the collective think tank. Cannabis will have to take two paths of regulation unlike alcohol. Medical strength/grade cannabis will be handled by the Feds and recreational grade cannabis can be a socially adjusted commercial product like alcohol. Both need the brightest minds to work on the plausible solutions or we will stay in the grip of DEA and their archaic beliefs that cannabis is evil and should remain a schedule 1 class drug. How we convince our leaders to believe we can self regulate the industry will greatly depend on how the Cannabis Industry chooses to present the products they want to sell to the broader public. You are on point, we the people own this ganja industry in Jamaica and this is exactly what I have said from the beginning. We have been operating the invisible ganja industry; now it appears to be accepted in the main commerce sphere. It’s up to us to be the regulators. Reply
