I was hoping this piece would be better than it is. The ECS is not limited to just interaction at the CB1 and CB2 receptors. This is an overly simplistic view and more recent literature has coined the term “endocannabinoidome” to capture this complexity, There are several more G-protein coupled receptors that interact with both endogenous and exogenous cannabinoids and others suspected of playing a role. In addition, we are finding cross-talk across different receptor families as well as an expanded palette of enzymes that help regulate the system. Reply
