CBE Press learned today that Allen St.Pierre, who has championed the cause of ending Cannabis Prohibition in the United States while helping any and all that have run afoul of its ugly ramifications, resigned as Executive Director of NORML after leading the organization with his partner and NORML founder Keith Stroup for the last 24 years.
Reports from Leafly indicate the St. Pierre’s resignation is effective July 15, he will step down from day-to-day duties but will remain a member of the NORML board and promised he’ll “still keep one foot in advocacy.” He said he’s currently in touch with elected policy makers, legal cannabis business owners, and trade associations about his possible next move.
St.Pierre is a personal friend and mentor, he is one of the truly honest and straight-up people in the industry, he is a member of the CBE advisory board as well as a regular contributor to the CBE Policy & Legal e-newsletter. In my opinion, he has more institutional knowledge in his little pinky than anyone in the Cannabis arena and for that reason and the equal access he has afforded all, is a favorite interview and source for the media that has been voracious in its appetite for information about the state of legalization in the USA and abroad. He was also a member of the inaugural CBE 100 Most Influential People in the Cannabis Industry ranking ninth.
CBE Press looks forward to its continued association with St.Pierre and wishes him and his wife Sara all of the best in their next adventure together.
