LivWell Enlightened Health Donates Over $800,000 in Cannabis to Veterans

Press Release

CEO John Lord: This is just our way of showing appreciation to all of our men and women in uniform.

DENVER—June 7, 2016 — LivWell Enlightened Health, Colorado’s leading cannabis retailer, announced today that more than $800,000 worth of cannabis was provided to Colorado veterans during the week of Memorial Day, in appreciation for their service.

From May 30 to June 3, Colorado veterans and service members with a valid ID were offered recreational ounces of high cannabidiol (CBD) cannabis for just a penny. Over 8,000 individual ounces were sold for the nominal price of one penny, resulting in one of the largest cannabis promotions in history. [1]

“We provided ounces of cannabis that have a particularly high CBD concentration, which has demonstrated potential benefits for those who suffer from PTSD and other physical ailments,” said John Lord, CEO of LivWell. “This is just our way of showing appreciation to all of our men and women in uniform.”

This promotion comes on the heels of LivWell donating $5,000 – one dollar for every customer who shopped at LivWell during the recent April 20 holiday – to the Fitch Foundation, a resource for disabled veterans in Denver. April 20 represented LivWell’s single largest day of retail cannabis sales for the year.

“My amputees have expressed over and over again how the use of cannabis has helped with everything from phantom pains after surgery to the pain they experience while learning to use their prosthetics,” said Laura Powell, veteran and founder of the Fitch Foundation. “We are so grateful for the support LivWell has provided veterans.”

John Lord added, “the sacrifices made by our young men and woman in uniform are humbling. If we have the opportunity to help, even in some small way, then we are going to do it.”

All of LivWell’s recreational Colorado locations participated in the promotion. For more information, please visit: www.LivWell.com.
