The board of a trade group that includes some of the largest commercial contractors in Greater Cincinnati announced today it opposes ResponsibleOhio’s effort to legalize marijuana.
The directors of the Associated General Contractors of Ohio cited concerns about workplace safety if the Nov. 3 ballot measure known as Issue 3 is approved by voters.
More than 1,000 companies are affiliated with AGC of Ohio, whose members primarily are commercial builders. The group’s website lists longtime members, which include Messer Construction Co. of Bond Hill, Danis Construction Co. and Turner Construction Co.
The ResponsibleOhio proposal would legalize marijuana for medical use by adults and children who have parental permission as well as for personal use by Ohioans 21 or older. Marijuana is illegal under federal law. [Read more at the Cincinnati Business Courier]
