Medical Marijuana Delivery App Eaze Gets $10 Million Investment

A San Francisco medical cannabis delivery app that launched in July has a valuation on par with another major tech disruptor when it was in its infancy: Uber.

Eaze announced today that DCM Ventures — with participation from Fresh VC, 500 Startups and other strategic investors — invested $10 million into the rapidly expanding company that powers easy, professional, 15-minute deliveries of products from major dispensaries to their members.

The $10 million in funding will go to rapidly adding staff and expanding the service footprint of Eaze. Eaze now serves the regional Bay Area, and is looking to hire an additional 50 staff across the org chart, from engineers to marketers, as it expands.

McCarty did not specify the equity stake investors got for $10 million, but did say Eaze’s valuation tracks Uber during its early days of seed funding and its Series A funding round. “I can tell you from guidance … our capital raises, the timing of our capital raises and the valuations are very similar.” [Read more at the San Francisco Chronicle]
