Back in 1994, Al Gore had yet to discover the Internet and I was Publisher of Financial World (FW), a bi-weekly magazine that made its name publishing the company story (our editor at the time was Geof Smith, a Forbes alum), and for lists like the FW CEO of the Year, the World’s Biggest Brands, the Best Run States and Cities in the country, and the Most Valuable Sports Franchises.
I also launched a joint editorial property published in both FW and CIO magazines called IT and the Bottom Line because I was convinced back then that technology was the ultimate tie-breaker in deciding who came in first in any industry segment, and that the companies that embraced technology were the one’s that would be best at leveraging their human capital, capital resources, brands, and intellectual property to maximize profits and shareholder return.
A short five years later we were beginning the Internet age, and technology truly changed the world that we and our kids now live in.
With that lesson in hand, CBE Press is happy to introduce CBE Technology, which we hope will be another arrow in your quiver to help Cannabis Business Executives utilize the latest greatest and best technologies available to grow their crops in an ecological friendly and sustainable way, to create new strains to solve medical problems, to test their products so that product quality is above question to comply with regulatory agencies, to better run their front and back office operations, and to do what business leaders have been doing for a long time — to be the best that they can be!
We will launch CBE Technology as a monthly newsletter, but I fully anticipate that we will move it to bi-weekly distribution fairly quickly ahead because I still believe, as I did nearly 20 year’s ago, that technology, and its effective use and implementation are still the tie-breaker when it comes managing and running a business to maximize profitability.
