Hello Rob,
I noticed you posted a list of top cannabis labs in the nation. I am unsure how you came to your ranking, as Green Leaf Lab is the largest testing lab in our State. Can you tell me more about your process? It would be nice to know that a media source has performed its due diligence when making such claims.
Thank you,
Rowshan Reordan
Owner, GreenLeaf Lab
Hello Rowshan,
The two of us spent a fast few minutes on the phone the week before the 2014 CBE Lab Testing Services HotList was issued, and as I recall, you were not willing to share revenue figures but did in fact tell me that GreenLeaf Lab was No. 1 in the state with over 500 clients and not a whole lot more.
CBE took this into consideration as we compiled our list, as well as the other five (5) sets of criteria and market feedback, to determine Greenleaf’s strong inclusion on the list.
As a matter of fact, because our due diligence, one other lab in Oregon that merited serious consideration didn’t make our Top 10 because of the volume that Greenleaf Lab has done. An argument could be made that they, and not Greenleaf, should have made our Top 10, which included labs from California, Massachusetts, Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington.
The selection criteria for the CBE list was based on this:
*Â Number of markets served and/or licensed to serve; *Â Number of clients served in 2014; *Â Breadth of services offered; *Â Innovation; *Â Lab certifications; *Â Industry recognition.
In the end, CBE felt that the five (5) labs ranked above yours, and one you compete directly against in Oregon (Cascadia Labs), merited their Top 5 ranking, as did the other four labs ranked ahead of Greenleaf.
The original list we began with started with nearly 50 labs. Greenleaf Labs caught our attention and made this year’s list after an exhausting effort on CBE’s part to determine the best bets for growth, manufacturer and dispensary consideration when they are looking for a lab service provider, and RFP inclusion.
Please accept my congratulations on your No. 6 ranking. I’m sorry you are disappointed with this ranking by CBE, but landing in our Top 10 is a great accomplishment that says a lot about your organization. Sincerely,
