Nebraska: Hemp Research Measure Enacted Into Law Lawmakers have approved legislation, LB 1001, reclassifying industrial hemp as an agricultural product and allowing for state-sponsored research into the plant’s cultivation
Governor Dave Heineman signed the measure into law in April.
Under the new law, cannabis possessing not more than three-tenths of one percent THC is exempt from the state’s controlled substances act. The measure also permits the state Department of Agriculture and/or state universities to engage in the cultivation of hemp as part of an agricultural pilot program. [Read More…]
