Bracing his hands on the arms of his wheelchair, Armando Montesino struggled to flip up the footrests and plant his feet on the ground. Confined to a wheelchair for some seven years now, he says it’s thanks to marijuana that these days he’s able to stand.

“When I broke my back, they said I would never walk,” said Montesino, 52, who said he fell off a roof eight years ago and crushed three inches of his spine. He jokes that he used to be 5′ 7″ and now he’s 5′ 4′. [Read More…]
