It’s now been five months since the state of Colorado officially began selling marijuana legally for recreational use. It’s a hot button issue that continues to divide people but the results so far seem promising in Colorado. Crime is down and the state is expecting big gains in tax revenue from the sale, $30,000,000 actually.
Colorado’s governor is expecting marijuana sales to exceed $1-billion dollars this year alone and the early success has turned some of the early skeptics into supporters.
A March poll conducted by Public Policy Polling found that nearly 60% of Colorado voters now approve of the sale and that just 35% disapprove. Back in 2012, nearly 45% of voters went against the law but now things seem to be tilting in the favor of Colorado’s experiment. [Read More…]
