Industry’s First Marijuana-infused Products (MIPs) Software Launched Today

Agrisoft Development Group, LLC today launched its Agrisoft Seed to Sale™ Marijuana-Infused Products Module, the industry’s long-awaited software solution for managing and automating the production of cannabis-infused products.

First to market, the MIPs module is an extension of the company’s Agrisoft Seed to Sale™ suite, launched earlier this year, which provides the most comprehensive and transparent tracking system for producers and retailers of licit cannabis. With today’s launch, Agrisoft Development Group empowers manufacturers of increasingly popular cannabis-infused products finally to track and manage their operations for profitability, compliance and security.

According to Agrisoft COO Matt Cook, of Cook Consulting, “Agrisoft’s goal is to provide producers of infused-cannabis products with the tools they need to transparently track every point in the handling and processing of cannabis. This system is designed to prevent diversion of cannabis products to illicit markets.” He adds, “The result is a tool that lets producers control costs, manage processing, employees, inventory, and distribution, in order to run their businesses profitably, and document compliance with government regulations. Until now, no solution so complete existed.”

To create its revolutionary software, Agrisoft Development Group’s software architects worked closely with MIPs processors and industry regulatory experts. CEO Charles Ramsey discussed the key features of his company’s management tool earlier this month at the National Marijuana Business Conference and Expo in Seattle. “Agrisoft’s solution tracks transportation manifests for both incoming inputs and outgoing finished product, and it creates purchase orders, work orders, and manages inventory aging,” says Ramsey. “It provides weigh-scale automation and inventory and ingredient costing. Critical to the MIPs industry is documentation of extraction batches and their corresponding concentrations, which can vary with raw materials and environmental conditions. All finished product batches are documented for recall traceability. A signature feature of the Agrisoft solution is recipe management with multiple active ingredients – for example, both THC and CBC, the two active ingredients most important to consumers. Multiple active ingredient support facilitates production for the burgeoning hemp-extracts market, integrated with traditional MIPs manufacturing processes.

Ramsey added, “Our solution lets producers manage recipes for branded and co-packed products and provides labels that inform consumers about ingredients and nutrition, according to configurable rules for multiple regulatory venues. This is important for MIPs producers who are licensing their processes to operators in other states.”

Charles Ramsey and Matt Cook partnered in 2013 with investors to fill the software gap in the medical marijuana industry. Matt Cook is nationally recognized as a regulatory expert for beverage alcohol and medical marijuana. He leads Agrisoft in its software development by drawing from his experience as an architect of Colorado’s medical marijuana statute and regulations. As a career law enforcement professional, and former senior director of enforcement for the Colorado Department of Revenue, Cook supervised gaming, tobacco, alcohol and racing, among other activities during his distinguished career. Since 2007 he has consulted with states as they write their cannabis statutes and hone their regulations.

Charles Ramsey is an information technology start-up veteran who has experience with HIPPA-compliance and FDA-approved medical software device approval processes.
