Immediately Following Medical Cannabis Legalization In PA Philly Hosts First Major Cannabis Conference

PRESS RELEASE

Philadelphia, PA: Saturday, April 30, 2016 Greenhouse Ventures (GHV) – Pennsylvania’s first business accelerator
specific for ancillary startups in the cannabis and industrial hemp industries – is hosting Philadelphia’s first canna-business and medical research conference, Innovation in the Cannabis Industry: Technology, Medical & Investment, at the Chemical Heritage Foundation as an official part of Philly Tech Week 2016, presented by Comcast.

On Sunday, April 17th at 2pm, PA Governor Tom Wolf signed Senate Bill 3 (SB3), officially legalizing the use of
medicinal cannabis in the state of Pennsylvania. This was a historic moment for Pennsylvania and marks the beginning of a new era for patients, medical researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors alike. With a list of 17 qualifying conditions, and the potential market size of 245,000 patients, there’s no question that Pennsylvania is on the radar of nearly every entrepreneur and canna-business professional.

Innovation in the Cannabis Industry features panel discussions from 18 of the cannabis industry’s top thought leaders on critical topics such as, canna-technology, medicinal research, and investing in canna-businesses, with a specific focus on expected trends emerging on the East Coast. Innovation in the Cannabis Industry is bringing together some of the top professionals in the industry to educate attendees on best practices that have emerged in the West Coast, as well as identify what the opportunities will be for the East Coast. As the East Coast starts to enter into this industry, Innovation in the Cannabis Industry is taking place at an opportune time for any entrepreneur, business professional, investor, or medical professional interested in learning more about the space. Innovation in the Cannabis Industry is the only conference that brings together such an elite group of industry experts in an intimate, single conference hall for such an affordable price. Innovation in the Cannabis Industry will also feature keynote speaker, PA State Senator Daylin Leach, who will discuss what the potential landscape of the Pennsylvania will look like. “As the United States gradually joins the rest of the world in recognizing that cannabis can be a safe and effective medicine, it’s vital that our scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators work to discover the full potential of this extraordinary plant,” said Senator Daylin Leach, who will be speaking at the conference.

Listed as an official event for Philly Tech Week 2016 presented by Comcast, Innovation in the Cannabis Industry will
showcase 8 innovative technology companies in the industry. Mark Doherty from Urban-gro will discuss how his
company is using technology to advance cannabis cultivation by maximizing yields and profitability of cannabis
cultivation facilities. David Goldstein from PotBotics will also discuss how PotBotics virtual budtender is using cutting
edge neural-net algorithms to recommend cannabinoid levels and custom strains to medical marijuana.

Mark Doherty, Director of Sales for the Eastern Region at Urban-gro said, “As markets come online up and down the East Coast, there is an immediate need for innovative technologies for Cannabis Cultivators. The Cannabis industry has a lot to gain from large scale horticulture, in terms of systems and best practices. Urban-gro’s team offers product solutions to the Cannabis industry so that cultivators can focus on building their business with the peace of mind of quality products. We look forward to meeting industry leaders at Greenhouse Ventures Innovation in the Cannabis Industry conference.”
